This statement sets out our policy for the use and holding of personal information that is provided by you in this site's form.

By providing personal information on this form you are indicating your consent to our obtaining personal information from you and to the holding and use of the personal information that is provided by or obtained from you in accordance with this policy.

The personal information that is provided by or obtained from you is used and/or held by us for maintaining our records and in order that we can communicate with you in the manner requested by you in accordance with this policy. We will not disclose any of the personal information provided in the form unless you have authorised us to so do, or if we are required to do so by law.

Visitors to PA Alumnet
During any visit to PA Alumnet our server downloads the pages you wish to see along with something called a 'cookie' to your computer (see below). Cookies enable the Web site publisher to do handy things such as find out whether the user has previously visited the site. This happens on a repeat visit by checking to see, and finding, the cookie deposited there on the previous visit.

Cookies will not identify the user of a computer and can record only what areas of a site a computer has been used to visit. Personal information
PA Consulting Group will always ask for your consent to PA Alumnet holding your personal details. These details will automatically be checked against the data contained within your cookie. To ensure that we have the exact information, when you submit personal information to us, we suggest that you look through the cookies in your computer to make sure that it is correct. Once your personal details are held on the database you are covered by law (Data Protection Act 1998) to get access to change or delete any information on you held by us.

What we collect
We will keep a record of your details (this also applies to people who visit our site who are under the age of 18). If you sign up to newsletters your details will not be passed on to third parties. On this site, you can order product or services, make requests, and register to receive materials. The types of personal information collected on these pages are name, contact, employment and address information.

How we use it
PA Consulting Group uses your information to better understand your needs and provide you with a better service. Specifically, we use your information to communicate back to you, to update you on services and benefits, and to personalize our sites for you.

PA Consulting Group will not sell, rent or lease your personally identifiable information to others unless we have your permission or are required by law. If you do not want to receive e-mails or general correspondence from us you can stop them by simply amending your details/requirements on the Directory information page.

How to manage cookies
How do you find out about cookies? If you are using Internet Explorer 4.0:
  1. Choose View, then
  2. Internet Options
  3. Click Advanced Type
  4. Scroll down to the yellow exclamation icon under Security and choose one of the three options to regulate your use of cookies.

In Internet Explorer 3.0, you click on View, Options, Advanced and click on the button that says 'Warn before Accepting Cookies.'

How do you know which sites you have visited are using cookies? If you're using Netscape Communicator 4.0:
On your task bar, click:

  1. View
  2. Internet Options
  3. Under the tab General (the default tab) click
  4. Setting
  5. View Files.

If you're using Internet Explorer 3.0:
On your Task Bar, click:

  1. View
  2. Options
  3. Advanced
  4. View Files.

If you're using Netscape Communicator 5.0:
Netscape bundles all cookies into one file on your hard drive. You'll need to find the file, which it calls Cookie.txt. on Windows Machines.

How to see your Cookie Code: Just click on a cookie to open it. You'll see a short string of text and numbers. The numbers are your identification card, which can be seen only by the server that gave you the cookie.
