Chuck McElroy – Helping wherever he can with the Red Cross
Chuck McElroy, who worked for PA Consulting from 2002 through 2005, has been named Volunteer of the Year from Bucks County Pennsylvania by the American Red Cross. Chuck, who was PA’s Chief of Party on the Jordan Water Reuse project for USAID in 2003 and 2004, decided to volunteer for service to the Red Cross shortly after leaving PA. Since that time, he has worked on Disaster Action teams in Philadelphia and Bucks County and on national disasters in Northern Illinois, Western Pennsylvania and most recently on the Iowa floods of 2008. Chuck works as a client case worker and assists disaster victims with shelter, food, clothing, bedding and repair costs as needed. He also has represented Red Cross at health fairs, golf tournaments, walkathons and other fund raising events. He especially enjoyed walking in the St Patrick’s Day Parade in Philadelphia with the Red Cross team. He also serves as a case worker for the Red Cross Services to Armed Forces program.
During his retirement in addition to his Red Cross activities, Chuck has enjoyed playing with the grandkids, lots of golf and occasional consulting assignments for various companies.
